Dance

Dance classes aim to develop confidence, awareness, and technical skills for the following dance techniques: African diaspora dance forms; Contemporary African dance, Hip Hop, Jazz theatre. Ballet and Contemporary dance.

Drama

Classes focus on developing skills in improvisation, devising scenes, voice techniques, character building and development, script work, monologues, and audition techniques.

Singing and Vocal Technique

Singing classes and workshops develop strong technical vocal skills whilst encouraging individual and group confidence. Singers will learn how to harmonise and interpret musical theatre & popular music to include solo work, duets & ensemble pieces.

Musical Theatre and Performance

Musical theatre classes and workshops integrates theatrical performance combining song, dance, acting & physical theatre. Performers will develop a combination of skills that includes focus, stage presence, awareness and confidence building.

African Diaspora Drumming Techniques, Singing and Percussion

Drumming classes and workshops with industry master drummers’ and musicians teach hand and stick techniques for Djembe, Dundun drums. Working as a soloist and within an ensemble, drummers will sing and learn varying polyrhythmic structures whilst developing an understanding for traditional and contemporary drum and percussion music. Classes develop cultural and social awareness, build self-esteem, discipline.

Audition technique

Audition technique workshops will focus on preparing for acting, singing, dance and musical theatre auditions. Pupils will receive training to prepare them for a range of industry requirements that include auditioning for camera, creating a self-tape and script preparation.
